Barefoot Barnalce
If I was going to upload bonus footage, I would have done it in March, when the original episode went up, but there were a handful of cameras on scene when Barefoot celebrated their 10 year anniversary at El Corazon on July 19th. Right now, I'm just thrilled the footage exists... It has seriously helped with some of the coping.
Jorge is the unofficial MC of the night, which he opens with a joke... and a cover of Push It by Salt n Pepa. If you knew him, he was irrepressible, a consistently hilarious, mischievous prankster, and always a lot of fun-- as well as a hell of a guitarist and founding member of one of my favorite bands.

True story: the first time I saw Barnacle, they had a singer. It's actually a kind of vague memory... but I'm really happy we have some video of their 10 Year Anniversary show, featuring a lot of Seattle guest vocalists, and reuniting them with their original singer.
The third and final Barefoot video I'm uploading today is the one Michelle did guest vocals (and puppets, and toilet paper streamers, and costume changes) for... it is one of my favorite Barefoot Barnacle songs, but the footage is really pretty good (because everyone fires up their cameras when something this ridiculous happens).
My favorite thing about the video, though, is Jorge's face when he realizes that the song just got Dursted. We didn't tell them that was going to happen, and if you look at his face while the Fred Durst/Jonathan Davis debacle is unfolding, he looks like a kid that just got exactly what he wanted for Christmas.

A lot of my music experience in Seattle is filtered through being in
bands here... but Barefoot Barnacle has been blowing me away since well
before I climbed up on my first Seattle stage. We played this show just
because: why would you turn down any opportunity to play with Barefoot?
This is one of the most fun, interesting, complex, varied, weird bands
in town... see them as often as possible, and buy their CD for the
off-days.
